Education background

Dr. phil. in Cultural Geography with focus on destination branding in the field of tourism from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (AWRU 5) and a Master of Science in Economic Geography, Eastern and Western Philosophy, and Political Science from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (AWRU 1) in Germany.

 

Research area/ working experiences

Over 10 years track record in education industry, teaching experience since 2004 at more than ten universities in Germany, India and China professional organization and SME, with focus on relationship management, marketing and strategy and tactics in the field of higher education.

As Director of International Relations Dr. Weber has been entrusted with the task of building a strong international university & SME network especially in China. As the former Programme Director at Germany’s biggest private university for a Business School he was responsible for managing and teaching the study program as well as public relations and project development. As Head of Consulting, Dr. Weber was responsible for business development, project development and public relation in a leisure industry focused SME. As Deputy Managing Director for a Professional Teacher Association, he managed 4300k members and 40 schools.

Teaching university wide courses, part of Research group at School of Education and International cooperation.

Program Director STI ISW Business School Freiburg, Steinbeis University Berlin (biggest private run university in Germany): Running the faculty, teaching, administration, and strategic development. Academic staff recruitment, management, and QM. Supported the CEO of the Business School in steering the execution of the Business Schools’ strategic planning.

Head of International Cooperation STI ISW Business School Freiburg, Steinbeis University Berlin (biggest private run Business School in Germany):
collaboration with other higher education institutions internationally. Marketing and student recruitment (sales). Strategic development.

Deputy Manager (Professional Teacher Association in Germany):
Administration and strategic development of the educational organization with 4300 members and 40 schools.

Research Associate (Top level German universities in Heidelberg, Freiburg and Kiel):
Administration (building up two chairs at two universities), teaching (undergraduate and graduate) and research (funded by the German research council).

 

Teaching Courses:

International teaching experience since 2004 at ten plus universities (e.g., Heidelberg, Freiburg etc.) in three countries. Teaching experience in the following areas, both undergraduate and graduate courses culture:

• Literature in education, English language speaking, Global communication Course, Scientific Research and critical thinking.

• Design thinking, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality, Knowledge management, Leisure, and sports management.

• Western and Asian philosophy, Political Science, Geopolitics, Social Science, Human Geography, Cultural Geography.

• Research methods, soft skills, self-management, and key qualification.
