On September 28，2018, the School of Education held a special conference to learn and convey the spirit of the National Education Conference and the construction of teachers' morality and ethics. All teachers attended the meeting and discussion.
Under the background of studying and implementing the spirit of the National Education Conference, the meeting combined with the status quo of the school’s own education and teaching reform, and conscientiously implemented the spirit of the Ministry of Education's conference on the work of undergraduate education in the new era of national higher education.
At the meeting, all the teachers seriously studied the important spirit of the speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the National Education Conference, especially the important exposition about education in the new era. They believed that the speech was rich and profound in content, and was a major theoretical scream combining the basic principles of Marxism and Chinese educational practice and an important part of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era. To fully study and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference, the first task is to conscientiously study, understand and comprehensively and accurately grasp the scientific connotation and spiritual essence of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on education, to use them to arm the mind, guide practice, pursue on work, and reach new achievements of education reform and development in the new era.
In order to implement the spirit of the noticeof the Ministry of Education on Paying Attention to the Undergraduate Education of the National Higher Education in the New Era, the School of Education launched a new round of teaching reform, strengthened the construction of faculty in the new era, and paid close attention to the construction of teachers' morality and style so as to establish a sound long-term mechanism. At the meeting, all the teachers studied and discussed the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Establishing and Improving the Long-term Mechanism for the Construction of Teachers' Morality in Colleges and Universities, and jointly promised to strictly abide by the Seven Red Bottom Lines of teacher's morality and enhance the consciousness of the construction of teachers' morality.
Since the beginning of the new semester, the school has launched the monthly event under the theme of “Remembering Teachers’ Original Aspirations and Missions”, and has formulated a specific work plan, which will carry out a series of activities, such as holding a lecture on “Remembering Teachers’ Original Aspirations and Missions”, essay competition under the topic of a good teacher in my heart and the weekly chat between teachers and students. The school adheres to the combination of learning and practicing, comprehensively strengthens the promotion, improves the assessment, and enhances the supervision of teachers' morality.
The teaching reform in the School of Education aims to build a high-level talent training system to comprehensively improve the quality of professional training. This round of teaching reform focusing on the topic of discussion has clearly recognized that undergraduate education is the foundation of the university and plays the core role in the cultivation of talents.
This round of education reform is issue-oriented. The School of Education sorted out the main problems in undergraduate education, looking for grasping hands and breakthroughs, deploying special research around the fields of creating “gold lessons”, student graduation essays and internship practices, formulating reform measures, and clarifying schedules to strengthen the implementation.
Guided by the spirit of the National Education Conference, the School of Education will implement it in the teaching practice, continuously strengthen the responsibility of teachers on teaching, mobilize all to devote themselves in undergraduate education, to consolidate the foundation of the university and education and teaching to cultivate high-quality socialist builders and successors.
